Puppy fits on a cd usually. They do not throw in the kitchen sink when they build these releases .

Because any math program you want. Can be loaded up as .sfs file <squashed file system> during bootup. If you learn the ropes. Puppy has it's own system of installing and running new programs. I like the .sfs system myself.
I suggest you join the forum, post in that thread I pointed to above. Mention what math programs you would like. LazyPuppy will probably package up a .sfs on request for what ever you wish.
Edit: I see Puppy 528 in your posting profile. So I feel like I am preaching to the choir a little.
You probably already know a lot of what I am saying.
Edit: Now that I thought of it. Might consider installing DebianDog and adding math stuff using it.

Jan 15, 2012 Walkthough video of installing a linux OS on virtualbox. Sorry there are strange things with the mouse while recording Virtualbox!! And a couple of dialogues in the wrong place. Go easy thats.
